Kuwait M1A2 Abrams Tank

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has issued the required certification to notify Congress of this possible sale.

The Government of Kuwait has requested the purchase of equipment and services related to the support of the M1A2 Abrams main battle tank, to replace the obsolete components, and the new main battle tank system M1A2K Abrams.

The following items will be included: repair parts; spare parts; spare materials; and other related elements of logistics and program support.

The main contractor will be General Dynamics Land Systems, based in Sterling Heights, Michigan. At present, the United States Government is not aware of any proposed offset agreement in relation to this potential sale.

The implementation of this proposed sale will not require the assignment of additional representatives of the Government or the contractor of the United States in Kuwait.
