First leased Apache from the US Army arrive in Poland

The Polish Armed Forces have announced the reception of the first batch of Boeing AH-64D APACHE helicopters from the United States at the 56th air base in Inowrocław, with an acceptance ceremony attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Polish Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

This transfer is part of a set of agreements between Poland and the United States worth about $300 million, which include the leasing of 8 US Army AH-64D APACHE helicopters, with logistical and technical support and personnel training guaranteed until the arrival of the newly produced AH-64E V6.5, in the process of acquisition in 96 specimens.

The next AH-64D helicopters are expected to arrive in Poland by the end of 2025 and will be assigned to the 1st Airborne Brigade for personnel training, creating a bridge capability until the introduction of the AH-64E Guardian Apache.

Polish pilots and technicians have already completed a training cycle in the United States at the US Army Aviation facilities in preparation for the deployment of these helicopters.
