The contract integration, initiated with the latest “Naval Law”, is managed by OCCAR (Organisation Conjointe de Coopération en matière d’Armement) within the Temporary Business Grouping (RTI), established between Fincantieri, the representative, and Leonardo, the client. For Fincantieri, the value of the contract for the two new units is about 700 million euros, a value that includes activities already carried out for the previous units subsequently transferred to Indonesia.

The two new PPA –Multipurpose Combat Ship, in “_Light Plus_” configuration, will be built by Fincantieri at the Integrated Shipyard of Riva Trigoso and Muggiano, with deliveries scheduled respectively in 2029 and 2030.

The PPA-Multipurpose Combat Ship represents a highly flexible type of ship with the ability to perform multiple tasks ranging from patrolling with sea rescue capabilities, to Civil Protection operations, as well as a frontline combat ship. In addition, the unit is able to use fast boats like RHIB (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat) up to a length of over 11 meters through side cranes or a launching ramp located at the stern.

  • 143 meters in length overall
  • Speed over 31 knots
  • 171 crew members
  • Equipped with a combined diesel and gas turbine propulsion system (CODAG) and an electric propulsion system
