Northrop Grumman Corporation’s MQ-4C Triton unmanned aircraft is being tested with the United States Navy before being transferred to the operating unit.

The Triton is a key aerial asset for maritime intelligence, built for the U.S. Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force, and supports missions such as maritime patrol and search and rescue.
The MQ-4C Triton provides persistent surveillance to enhance joint military operations.
The MQ-4C Triton multi-intelligence system is the only remote piloting vehicle capable of operating at high altitude and long-range, able to carry out strategic maritime intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and targeting at a strategic level.
Operating at altitudes above 50,000 feet, the Triton can cover over 2 million square miles of ocean and coastlines in a single flight, providing unprecedented awareness to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The MQ-4C Triton system received the Initial Operating Capability (IOC) statement from the US Navy in the summer of 2023.
The US Navy has ordered Northrop Grumman to build 68 MQ-4C Triton UAS and convert 2 prototypes.
To date, Northrop Grumman has produced 20 MQ-4C Triton for the US Navy and three copies for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).
