The 183rd ‘Nembo’ Regiment of the Folgore Brigade Returns from Kosovo
With the return of the War Flag of the 183rd ‘Nembo’ Regiment, the deployment of the paratroopers from Pistoia in Kosovo formally concludes. They served for over six months under the KFOR (Kosovo Force) operation, where the unit played a central role in NATO’s mission for security and stability in the Balkan region.
During their mandate, the ‘Nembo’ paratroopers worked within a multinational context, distinguishing themselves through professionalism, operational readiness, and a spirit of service.
The return of the War Flag, symbolizing the values and history of the Regiment, marks the end of a commitment that has validated the high level of preparation of the Folgore Brigade and the Italian Army.
The returning paratroopers were welcomed at the ‘Giovanni Marini’ barracks by local authorities, whose presence conveyed a sense of pride and gratitude for the work done by the men and women of the 183rd.
For the success of operations like the one carried out by the 183rd ‘Nembo’ in Kosovo, training, values, and technology are key. These three pillars guide the daily actions of every soldier and contribute to operational readiness across the entire spectrum of possible uses of the military apparatus.
