In the United States, two significant contracts favoring the USMC have been awarded concerning orders for a new lot of ACV-30s and remote control Protector RT 20 turrets.
ACV-30
BAE Systems Land & Armaments LP partnering with Iveco Defence Vehicles (IDV) has secured a $181 million modification to a previously awarded contract for the supply of 8×8 amphibious combat vehicles (ACV).
This contract modification involves exercising options for the procurement of 31 full production ACV-30s armed with a medium caliber 30 mm cannon, along with associated production, deployment and support costs, and spare parts.
The total contract value, if all options are exercised, would be $3.8 billion.
The contract work will be carried out in York, Pennsylvania (60%), Aiken, South Carolina (15%), San Jose, California (15%), Sterling Heights, Michigan (5%), and Stafford, Virginia (5%) with a completion date set for September 2027.
Protector Remote Turret 20
Norwegian company Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has won a modification of just under $118 million to a previously awarded contract for the supply of the Protector Remote Turret 20.
The total contract value, if all options are exercised, would be $271.47 million.
This contract amendment involves finalizing the contract and exercising options for the procurement of 101 full-rate production turrets for the ACV 30 vehicle, along with associated production costs, deployment and support costs, test and support equipment, and spare parts.
The contract work will be conducted in Johnstown, Pennsylvania (62%) and Kongsberg, Norway (38%), with a completion date set for September 30, 2027.
