Lithuania
The Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense has been given the opportunity to advance payments for the acquisition of platforms and weapons systems that are critically important to strengthening the armed forces.
Among these acquisitions is the program for 44 Leopard 2A8 tanks. The aim of the Lithuanian Government is to accelerate the production of the tanks, ensure their delivery by 2030, and bring the National Division closer to full operational capability. To this end, Lithuania intends to make an advance payment by the end of the third quarter of 2025 for the 44 Leopard 2A8 that will form a tank battalion.
Canada
In Halifax at the Irving shipyards, the sixth and final Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship (AOPS) of the Royal Canadian Navy, the HMCS Robert Hampton Gray belonging to the Harry DeWolf class, was launched.
These units have over 6,600 tons of displacement and are built with reinforced steel to operate in polar regions and the Arctic Ocean, in icy waters and extreme temperatures.
Argentina
In Buenos Aires, the Ministry of Economy has authorized the Defense to request a loan worth 64 million dollars to finance the purchase of four Leonardo AW109SP helicopters for the Argentine Navy.
Vietnam
The Vietnamese Navy will receive from the South Korean Navy a third multi-role corvette belonging to the Pohang class.
In Vietnam, these 1,200-ton displacement corvettes are partially re-armed with Kh-35EW or Kh-35E (3M24E) Uran-E missiles or locally-made VCM-01 missiles instead of the landed Harpoon, which flank the Leonardo (OTO Melara) Compatto 76/62 mm and Breda/Bofors Dardo binato 40/70 mm systems.
