United States

In the United States, the US Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin about $50 million worth contract modification to continue the development of the Long Range Anti Surface Missile (LRASM), Extended Range C-3 version.

The LRASM is a precision-guided anti-ship standoff missile based on the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile – Extended Range (JASSM-ER). It is designed to meet the needs of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force in contested maritime environments.

Germany

Raytheon, an RTX group company, and Diehl Defence have signed a memorandum of understanding to co-produce key elements of the Stinger anti-aircraft missile in Europe.

This agreement allows for the expansion of Stinger missile production at Diehl Defence under the company’s growth plan, in response to the increasing demand for MANPADS VSHORAD from NATO member states. The Stinger missile is a lightweight, combat-proven, autonomous air defense system used by ground troops against cruise missiles and low-flying aircraft.

Israel

In Israel, Elbit Systems has confirmed it is working on an airborne version of the high-power Iron Beam point defense laser system.

The airborne version is being developed for the Israeli Air Force and has attracted significant interest abroad. The ground version of the Iron Beam went into production recently, and its initial operational capability (IOC) is expected to be declared next year, making this HEL system the first in operation worldwide. The system can operate independently but in Israel, it is integrated with the Iron Dome to enhance its ability to successfully handle swarms and individual attack drones.

Israeli industrial and military sources have confirmed that prototypes of the Iron Beam have been used operationally during missile and drone attacks launched on Israel from Iran, and these real-world tests have been successful.
