Saab has announced the signing of a contract with the Colombian Government. The order includes 17 Gripen E/F fighter jets. The value of the order is €3.1 billion, with deliveries expected between 2026 and 2032. The contract comprises 15 single-seat Gripen E combat aircraft and two double-seat Gripen F, in addition to equipment and weapons, training, and associated services. Saab and the Colombian Government signed two additional compensation agreements today, outlining the frame of reference for various military and social projects. These agreements include a comprehensive industrial cooperation package that will benefit Colombia in sectors like aerospace, cybersecurity, health, sustainable energy, and water purification technologies. Colombia decided to purchase the Gripen fighter-bombers produced by Saab as a replacement for the aged Israeli-made KFIR fighters, which have reached the end of their operational life. The Colombian Air Force (FAC) has about 15 single-seat IAI KFIR C.10 and double-seat TC.10. Source and photo credit @Saab
