Lynx KF41 for Romania
According to reports by the Romanian press, the Bucharest Government has decided to accept the offer proposed by the German Rheinmetall AG for the adoption and on-site production of Lynx KF41 family vehicles.

The Romanian program would consist of several phases, with an initial direct purchase in Germany and subsequently, the vehicles would be directly assembled in Romania.
The first phase envisages the purchase of about three hundred vehicles of which about fifty will be set up in specialized versions, with an option for another fifty vehicles.
As part of the agreement with the Bucharest Government, Rheinmetall will identify the area for the construction of the Lynx production plant.
After Hungary, Italy (with over a thousand A2CS vehicles to be equipped) and Ukraine which will produce it on-site, Romania also seems to have opted for this family of next-generation combat vehicles; negotiations are also underway with Greece interested in adopting the Lynx KF41 to replace the old M113, Leonidas and Marder 1A3 currently in service.
In the ranks of the Romanian Army, the Lynx KF41 will replace the MLI-84 and MLI-84M Jderul whose development dates back to the era of the Warsaw Pact, albeit updated in subsequent decades.
The Bucharest Parliament had already approved the government’s program for a value of about 2.55 billion euros.
