The Nordic and Baltic countries involved in the cooperation program related to the CV90 infantry fighting vehicles have signed an agreement allowing faster deliveries and lower costs.
The nations affected by the agreement are the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Lithuania, and Estonia.
These nations, by making group purchases, aim to reduce costs, optimise deliveries and simplify the maintenance of the new combat vehicles produced by BAE Systems Hägglunds AB.
The new agreement integrates with those signed in previous months by the Finland, Sweden, Netherlands, and Estonia, to which Lithuania and Norway were added for the joint purchase of CV90.
The selected version is the CV90 MkIIIC (also known as MkIV) primarily armed with 35 mm Bushmaster III gun/cannon, with a total combat weight of 38 tonnes, complete with an active protection system (APS), an ability to deploy anti-tank missiles (typically Spike LR2) and transportation capacity for an 8-man infantry squad.
