Bahrain Government Allotted Potential FMS for F-16 support systems
The Washington State Department has approved a potential foreign military sale (FMS) to the Government of Bahrain for F-16 support systems and related equipment at an estimated cost of 445 million dollars.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has issued the required certification, notifying Congress of this possible sale.
Bahrain’s Request for Aeronautical Components
The Government of Bahrain has requested the purchase of aeronautical components; missile containers; radar receiver components; replacement parts for the guidance and control section; weapon systems support; ground assistance equipment; laboratory tools and equipment that will be added to a case previously implemented whose value of 47 million dollars was below the Congress’ notification threshold.
Major Contractors
The main contractors will be General Electric Aerospace, based in Evendale, Ohio, and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, based in Fort Worth, Texas.
Royal Bahraini Air Force’s F-16 Purchase
The Royal Bahraini Air Force, already a user of F-16, has ordered 16 new F-16V Block 70/72, the first of which was delivered by Lockheed Martin in March 2023.
