In the United States, the Naval Air Systems Command at Patuxent River, Maryland, has awarded a $1.1 billion order to Lockheed Martin for the supply of long-term materials, parts, and components in support of 65 F-35 Lightning II aircraft from the 20th production lot.

Moreover, the order broadens the scope for the supply of long-term materials, parts, and components in support of 133 F-35 aircraft anticipated from the 21st production lot.

This order is part of a contract previously awarded to Lockheed Martin and still in effect.

These aircraft from Lots 20 and 21 will be assigned to the U.S. Armed Forces (USAF, US Navy, and USMC), the Air Forces of partner countries of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program, and the customer countries of foreign military sales (FMS).

Work on this order will be performed at various locations in the United States, at Warton in the United Kingdom, and at Cameri in Italy and are expected to be completed by 2030.

The order pertains indiscriminately to F-35 A-variant aircraft with conventional takeoff and landing, B-variant with short takeoff and vertical landing, and C-variant launchable from aircraft carriers.
