The seventh edition of the New Space Economy Expoforum, an important international event dedicated to the Space and its applications, began today in Fiera di Roma. The event is organized by Fiera Roma in collaboration with the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and supported by the Region of Lazio and the Chamber of Commerce of Rome.
A truly global event, this year it brings together 80 exhibitors, 187 speakers from around the world and a large variety of devices and technologies: rockets, parachutes, satellites, launch ramps, rovers, robots, advanced systems for observation and safety.

It was the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, appointed last month Ministerial President of the ESA, who opened the event. Urso stated that ‘_space is one of the great strategic directions for European autonomy and security_’. He highlighted that investments in the sector continue to grow – ‘_+13% for Italy_’ – but stressed the need for the industrial system to organize itself and absorb a rapidly evolving demand.
On a territorial level, the vision was relaunched by Roberta Angelilli, Vice President of Region of Lazio, who stated ‘_We are working on building a true industrial district of aerospace and security. Europe has already allocated 130 billion euros for research, defense, and security: extraordinary opportunities for our production system and for the growth of the sector_’.
Luca Del Monte, Senior Executive of ESA, highlighted the international scope of the event, ‘_A very productive first day, both for the quality of the meetings dedicated to the industry and for the level of internationality achieved by the NSE Expoforum. A growth that increases the prestige of the event_’.
Augusto Cremarossa, Head of Strategic Coordination Office ASI, highlighted the solidity of the Italian contribution to the global space scene: ‘_Our history in Space is solid and continues to evolve. We collaborate with ESA and NASA and the constant presence of Italian astronauts testifies to the level reached and the strength of our system_’.
The opening of the expoforum is also the first public opportunity to present the process that will lead Rome to guide, in 2026, the European network CVA – Communauté des Vega et Ariane, which brings together institutions and industries of European launchers.
The first day confirmed the global profile of the Expoforum, thanks also to the presence of the President of the African Space Agency(AFSA), Tidiane Ouattara, present to meet the main actors of the sector and read the trends of the sector, in light of the Mattei Plan. ‘_Today we have 23 countries involved_’ – he declared – ‘_and we look at space as a driving force for development and future scientific missions_’.
The event continues until Friday with talks, workshops, technical presentations, B2B meetings, and the exhibition area always open to professionals of the sector.
Three days to understand how Space is changing the economy, science, and the world in which we live. And to confirm, once again, that the future – even this year – starts from Rome.
