Introduction
In Russia, the Kalashnikov Group has announced the completion of the upgrade of the AK-308, based on the AK-15, for series production with deliveries expected as early as this year.

Features
The weapon has been developed in 7.62 × 51 mm NATO (.308 Win) calibre for the export market and adopts a reinforced structure and an increased overall length to reduce recoil. Demonstrating a theoretical rate of fire of 700 rounds per minute, a barrel length of 415 mm and an empty weight of 4.3 kg, the AK-308 is compatible with AK-12 accessories and includes a 20-round polymer magazine.
Modifications
The modifications made by Kalashnikov to the weapon are based on the experiences of the AK-12 and implement changes to the 2023 model.
Improvements
The AK-308 has been improved with ergonomic features such as an elongated handguard, a folding and adjustable stock, along with a new Picatinny rail. The rear sight notch has become foldable and the 20-round magazine is equipped with a viewing window to check the level.
