The **Defense Industries Agency (AID)** represented by its **Director General,** Prof. **Fiammetta SALMONI,** and **KNDS Ammo Italy S.p.A. (KAI)** represented by its **Chief Executive Officer,** Eng. **Paolo REGINALDI,** have signed a strategic **Collaboration Agreement** for our **Defense** industry, which involves the production and marketing of ammunition for Defence, with priority for the **Italian Armed Forces.**
The agreement, lasting **ten years,** includes the production at the **Military Plant of Terrestrial Ammunition of Baiano of Spoleto (PG)** and is part of the plan to **revive the Productive Units of AID,** in a broader project of **strengthening** the national productive capacity in the **Defense and Security** sector.
The initiative aims to guarantee Italy’s strategic autonomy in ammunition production, exploiting the industrial _know-how_ and infrastructural capabilities of both **AID and the KNDS Group.**
**AID’s Director General** underscored the **strategic importance** of the agreement: “_This collaboration with KAI allows us to enhance the productive capacities of the Baiano of Spoleto Plant, promoting efficiency, innovation and sustainability in the context of national defence._”
**The CEO of KNDS** expressed “_great satisfaction with the signing of this multi-year agreement. This is an important acknowledgement of our constant commitment, a strategic milestone that further strengthens national productive capacity in a critical sector_.”
**The Agreement** includes a development plan featuring **investments in infrastructure, machinery and advanced technologies** for the adaptation of the Military Plant.
**AID and KAI** will work synergistically to optimize production processes and expand marketing opportunities also in international markets, with **AID** responsible for supplying the Italian Defense.
Through this initiative, the two entities consolidate an industrial partnership aimed at meeting the needs of national security and strengthening Italy’s position in the defense industry.
