BAE Systems has announced that the Compass Call Mission Crew Simulator (CCMCS) for the EA-37B electronic attack mission system has been approved for training by the US Air Force and provided in support of temporary employment.

The CCMCS provides realistic training and mission trials for EA-37B crews, the only long-range and standoff electromagnetic disruption platform of the US Department of War.
Characteristics of the CCMCS
Developed in conjunction with Textron Systems Corporation, the CCMCS enhances the readiness of the operators by providing a high-fidelity simulated tactical environment that replicates the complex and dynamic scenarios that EA-37B crews will encounter during real operations.

The system provides highly realistic training in a safe and controlled environment, reducing the risks and costs of live flight training. The Compass Call Mission Crew Simulator allows the operators to develop their skills and maximize the effectiveness of the EA-37B, a crucial mission system for electromagnetic spectrum dominance.
The system provides the same controls, displays, and systems of the EA-37B, providing crew members with essential training on electronic warfare operations, mission planning and execution, resource management, communication, decision making, and teamwork.
The simulator is available 24 hours a day to support training and mission trials, reducing the stress on the EA-37B fleet, and improving the availability of aircraft for operations.
Compass Call II Mission
The mission of the EA-37B Compass Call II is to disturb and inhibit adversary communication, radar, navigation, and air defense systems, limiting battlefield coordination and the enemy’s command and control capabilities.

Compass Call II is a strategic asset, a real force multiplier, that increases survival and lethality of other Allied Forces.

Italian Programme for Compass Call II
Italy is also interested in the Compass Call II program; for this purpose BAE Systems, in collaboration with L3Harris Technologies, has started a program in the US for the modification of a pair of Gulfstream G550s, an air platform extensively used by the Italian Air Force, into Electronic Warfare aircraft.

The EA systems developed by BAE Systems fully exploit the autonomy, high operational altitude, and flight persistence of the Gulfstream G550, providing long-range and standoff electronic jamming capabilities.
These new advanced air platforms will allow the Italian Air Force to limit the situational awareness of adversaries, deny access to and use of the electromagnetic spectrum, as well as align with the operational standards of the Compass Call EC-37B in service with the USAF.
