Successful Delivery of Scanter 5202 Coastal Surveillance Radars

The Danish company Terma announced the completion of deliveries of the fifty-one Scanter 5202 coastal surveillance radars ordered by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (Försvarets materielverk, FMV).

The updated Scanter 5202 radars allow high-resolution detection of small surface vessels and low-altitude, short-range aerial threats, enabling faster and more accurate decision-making in complex maritime environments even under adverse weather conditions.

Thanks to the integration of advanced features such as integrated cybersecurity, interference detection, and real-time tracking via Terma’s Edge Tracker, the Scanter 5202 meets the operational requirements of Swedish and other operators.

The Scanter 5202 is a 2D radar system that operates in the X-band, based on Solid State Power technology with software-defined digital functionalities.
