Fincantieri to Supply a Multirole Support Ship to the Italian Navy

Fincantieri, through its Underwater Technological Center, will provide the Italian Navy with a supply vessel, purposely built to ensure maximum versatility including underwater operations. The design of the Unit and the space available allow for versatile operational functions, ensuring flexibility and quick reconfiguration based on requirements.

The unit will undergo modification work at the Group’s shipyard in Palermo, with the aim of transforming it into a technologically advanced platform fully integrated into the national capabilty system. The project is part of a path aimed at strengthening Italian presence in the increasingly strategic maritime domain through modular and scalable solutions.

Fincantieri proceeds towards the role of orchestrator of high complexity technologies, able to operate from surface to the seabed, from hardware to software. It confirms the Group’s commitment to consolidate its position as a benchmark in naval innovation, developing technologies that combine flexibility, security, and interoperability, and strengthening the ability to respond quickly and integrated to the needs of the country-system, with an industry vision oriented to technological sovereignty and innovation.
