During the recent Dubai Airshow, the CEO of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), a part of Rostec, a state-controlled entity, announced that Sukhoi had delivered the first pair of Su-57E to a foreign customer.
Although the customer was not named, UAC’s recently released financial data revealed that Algeria had placed an order for fourteen Su-57E. No further orders for Sukhoi’s fighter from abroad are currently listed in those figures.
UAC brought a Sukh0i Su-35E to the Dubai Airshow 2025, which had been updated with a large display replacing the two screens previously installed.
Last February, the Algerian state television itself announced the purchase of the Felons with pilots already in Russia for training on the new advanced bomber; moreover, Algerian TV indicated the delivery of the first pair of Felons by the end of this year.
Deliveries of the fourteen Su-57E, the export version of the Felon, are expected to be completed within three years by 2028.
The Sukhoi Su-57 is a multirole fighter considered to belong to the fifth generation designed to engage all types of air targets at long and short range, land and surface targets, capable of overcoming air defense systems.
The bomber has a maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) of 35 tonnes and is powered by two AL-41F turbofans each generating 32,000 lbf with the afterburner engaged.
The aircraft reaches a maximum speed of Mach 2 or 2,135 km/h at high altitude and a range of 2,500 kilometers at subsonic speeds and a radius of action of 1,250 kilometers.
The Felon is armed with Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-30-1 30 mm and has 12 hardpoints (6 internal and 6 external) with a maximum payload capacity of 7,500 kilograms for air-to-air, air-to-surface, anti-ship, anti-radiation, precision-guided bombs and other types of ammunition.
The Su-57E is equipped with an X-band Active Electronically Scanned Array radar (AESA), InfraRed Search and Track system (IRST), Identification Friend or Foe system (IFF) with L-band array and, electronic warfare and protection system, as well as directional infrared countermeasures (DIRCM).
