Panama Acquires Four A-29 Super Tucanos for Strategic Air Surveillance
In Brazil, aerospace manufacturer Embraer announced that Panama has finalized the purchase contract for four A-29 Super Tucanos.

The four aircraft will be managed by the National Aeronaval Service of Panama (SENAN) as a new surveillance and protection platform for the strategic waterway connecting the Pacific and Atlantic.
With the signing of the contract, Panama becomes the eighth Latin American nation to select the A-29 Super Tucano, alongside Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay, and the Dominican Republic.
The Super Tucano: A World Leader
The Super Tucano is a world leader in its category of advanced training/light combat aircraft, with over 600,000 flight hours logged.
Currently, 22 Air Forces have chosen the Super Tucano, and other nations have already shown interest in the platform thanks to its combination of reliability, availability, robustness, and low operating and exercise costs.
The Super Tucano was designed by Embraer to provide a tested, complete, efficient, reliable, and economical solution on a single platform, coupled with high operational flexibility.
The A-29 operates in a wide range of missions, such as air patrolling, special operations, precision attack, air and tactical coordination (TAC), ISR, border surveillance and monitoring, control of illicit activities, reconnaissance, air escort, and basic, operational, and advanced pilot training.
