The European Multi-Mission Frigate (FREMM) ITS Luigi Rizzo will make a stop in the port of Doha in the coming days.
The presence of the Italian Frigate in Qatar is part of the Defence’s international cooperation activities and contributes to consolidating relations with the Qatari Armed Forces and local authorities. The aim is to strengthen synergy in maritime security operations, with particular attention to the protection of trade routes and regional stability.
In the current context, characterised by increasing challenges to international security, collaboration with regional partners is of growing importance. The stopover of ITS Rizzo is a significant opportunity to promote the exchange of experiences, strengthen institutional ties and foster a constructive dialogue on defence and security issues.
The Italian Navy continues to play a significant role in ensuring security and freedom of navigation in areas of strategic interest, operating in close collaboration with allied and partner navies, in compliance with international law and commitments undertaken in the European and multilateral context.
