In the United States, the Department of State has decided to approve a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the Government of Israel for Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) guidance kits and ammunition support and related equipment for an estimated cost of $510 million.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has issued the required certification, notifying Congress.

#### Israeli Request

The Government of Israel has requested the purchase of 3,845 JDAM KMU-558B/B guidance kits for the 908 kg BLU-109 bomb body and 3,280 JDAM KMU-572 F/B guidance kits for the 227 kg MK 82 bomb body.

The proposed sale will also include engineering, logistics, and technical support services from the U.S. Government and the contractor, as well as other related elements of logistics and program support.

The main contractor will be Boeing. Part of the JDAM guidance kit requirement may be transferred from U.S. Government stocks.

The implementation of this proposed sale will not require the assignment of additional U.S. Government or contractor representatives in Israel.

This proposed sale will have no negative impact on U.S. defense readiness.
