NASA’s Lunar Stone at LarioSpace 2025
A stone from the Moon will be showcased at “LarioSpace 2025”, an international event focused on the innovations and technologies in the New Space Economy sector.
The third edition of the event will be held on 11th and 12th September at the Lario Space Center, a satellite telecommunications facility by Telespazio (Leonardo Group), located in Gera Lario, near Lake Como.
The Lunar Sample 15555
The extraordinary fragment of the lunar surface, known as “Lunar Sample 15555”, was provided directly by NASA. It weighs 92.5 grams and is contained within a protective pyramid made of transparent acrylic material. This fragment was part of a basaltic rock weighing a staggering 9.6 kg, collected by astronaut David Scott during the historic Apollo 15 mission in July 1971: it was the second-largest boulder recovered during all the Apollo expeditions.
Event Overview
Expected to attend are dozens of industry managers and space experts, who will participate in various technical conferences, one-to-one interviews, and informative meetings for young practitioners and students. Among the guests, Italian astronauts Paolo Nespoli, who has orbited for the European Space Agency (ESA), and Walter Villadei, a military aeronautical engineer will also speak.
