NASAMS for Denmark
Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (“KONGSBERG”) has announced signing a contract with the government of the Kingdom of Denmark for the supply of the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS).

The contract is worth 500 million euros and will provide Denmark with advanced air defense capability.
NASAMS System
The NASAMS system includes the AN/MPQ-64F1 Sentinel 3D radar, advanced variants of the Raytheon missiles, as well as the Fire Distribution Center (FDC), EO/IR electro-optic sensors, and a flexible number of KONGSBERG’s multimissile launchers and logistical tactical vehicles.
In addition to AMRAAM, NASAMS can employ a mix of missiles, the AMRAAM-Extended Range and the AIM-9X Sidewinder, providing both long and short-range capabilities.
The modularity and open architecture of NASAMS allow for the continuous introduction of new technologies, ensuring the adaptability of the system to new threats and missions throughout its life cycle.
The system is integratable with VSHORAD missile systems and air defense and C-UAS artillery systems, as well as long-range missile systems, enhancing their overall capabilities.
NASAMS is defined by KONGSBERG as the most flexible solution on the market. It covers a wide range of air defense missions and offers a growth potential for long-range air defense and anti-tactical ballistic missiles within the framework of NASAMS architecture.
Denmark’s Adoption
Denmark becomes the fourteenth nation to use NASAMS and the eighth NATO country to adopt the Norwegian-US system, a result of collaboration between American Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RTX Corporation) and Norwegian Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KONGSBERG).
