Naval Group and the Egyptian Navy extend their ongoing ISS contract
Naval Group and the Egyptian Navy have signed an extension to the in-service support (ISS) contract in place since 2019. This new agreement covers a period of five years, during which a team of engineers and technicians will be in charge of maintaining seven ships: the multi-mission frigate (FREMM) Tahya Misr, the two Egyptian Landing Helicopter Docks(E-LHD) Gamal Abdel Nasser and Anwar El Sadat, and the four Gowind corvettes, El Fateh, Port Said, El Moez, and Al Ismailia.

The signing of this extension strengthens the collaboration between the Naval Group and the Egyptian Navy, which began about ten years ago, and guarantees Naval Group’s long-term presence in the country.
Naval Group will provide job opportunities for Egyptian employes
Naval Group will offer job opportunities to Egyptian employees to expand their teams in Egypt. Negotiations are also underway to establish new partnerships with Egyptian suppliers, who will participate in ship maintenance operations together with Naval Group and the Egyptian Navy.
Naval Group’s decade-long presence in Egypt
Naval Group has been present in Egypt for around ten years. The group has provided the Egyptian navy with a FREMM frigate, two Mistral class Egyptian Landing Helicopter Docks (E-LHD), and four Gowind corvettes, three of which were locally built through a technology transfer program. The group also inaugurated its subsidiary in Alexandria in 2018, further cementing their long-term local presence.
Since 2019, Naval Group is responsible for the in-service support of this fleet as the designer and constructor of the FREMM FR, the E-LHD, and the Gowind corvettes.
