The value of the order is approximately 1.5 billion Swedish kronor, which is about 134 million euros, and material deliveries are expected in 2027-2028.

The order received from FMV was recorded by Saab in the second quarter of 2025.

The new contract envisions the future supply of equipment which will enable the Stockholm Armed Forces to integrate the system with the newly selected short-range mobile air defense (MSHORAD) solution, the IRIS-T SLM by German Diehl Defence, of which the Swedish Government has ordered seven batteries.

The new acquisition of RBS 70 NG systems by FMV is aimed both at strengthening the Brigades’ capabilities as well as ensuring long-term access to essential supplies.

#### Characteristics of the RBS 70 NG

The RBS 70 NG is a modern terrestrial air defense system, equipped with automatic target acquisition and an integrated night sighting system. It is a short-range air defense system particularly suitable for counteracting drones, airplanes, and incoming missiles up to nine kilometers away, and at altitudes of up to five kilometers with the Bolide missile.

The MANPADS uses a high-precision fully integrated sighting system, non-removable laser guidance, and high-resolution thermal imaging with day and night capabilities.

The system has extremely fast battery setup and response times, being operational in thirty seconds and actionable within five seconds of receiving the launch command.
