In Germany, Rheinmetall has announced that it has received further significant orders for the supply of 155 mm artillery ammunition.

An international customer has placed two orders with Rheinmetall Denel Munition for the supply of full-calibre (ERFB) 155 mm extended range artillery ammunition, valued at several tens of millions of euros. The order includes the supply of projectiles, launch charges, and fuses.
These last orders are the result of the rapid growth of international demand, triggered by the ongoing international crisis.
The German group Rheinmetall is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of large-calibre ammunition.
In view of the exponential increase in ammunition demand, Rheinmetall increased its production capacity from 2022 and aims to reach an annual production capacity of 1.1 million 155 mm calibre artillery projectiles by 2027.
Rheinmetall Denel Munition is also expanding its production capacity, as international supply capabilities fail to keep pace with the demand for artillery projectiles.
In fact, Rheinmetall Denel Munition expects an increase in ammunition orders and is constantly adjusting its five-year production plan to meet the needs of its most important customers.
Besides the production of artillery projectiles, Rheinmetall Denel Munition is currently engaged in the validation of the launch of projectiles for precision attacks with a range of 73 km from howitzers, compatible with NATO’s Joint Ballistic Memorandum of Understanding (JBMOU).
These ranges will provide heavy artillery with a significant survival capability and improved offensive effectiveness, being able to strike targets at great distances accurately.
