The Noceto Military Ammunition Recovery and Restoration Facility (Parma), an outstanding establishment of the Defense Industries Agency (AID), hosted a delegation from the Service Interarmées des Munitions (SIMu) of the French Ministry of Armed Forces and Veterans, for an institutional visit aimed at evaluating new technical and operational synergies in the field of demilitarization of no longer employable ammunition.

Guided by the Director of the Facility, Col. Andrea Riccardo AGNELLA, and in the presence of Brig. Gen. Massimo BOSCHETTO representing the General Directorate of the Defense Industries Agency, the representatives of the SIMu were able to closely explore the activities that make the Noceto site a national reference point for demilitarization, thermo-destruction and sustainable management of the Armed Forces’ ammunition.
The visit began with an introductory briefing, during which Director Agnella outlined the historic mission of the Organization, today involved in constant modernization of production processes and security protocols. “_Our job_,” he explained, “_is to guarantee reliability, quality and speed in the restoration of ammunition, combining technological innovation and deep technical know-how. Collaboration with structures like the SIMu is fundamental to anticipate operational needs and provide concrete and effective responses_.”
Subsequently, the delegation visited the technical departments of the processing. Particular interest was provoked by the lines of thermo-destruction where technicians and engineers of the Facility illustrated the production and quality control procedures, with particular focus on the effluent treatment plants in use to reduce environmental impact, in line with the objectives of the Defense Industries Agency and in accordance with ISO 14001 standards.
The French delegation expressed appreciation for the high level of personnel specialization and for the investments aimed at workplace safety, a particularly sensitive issue in a high-risk operational area. The end of activity de-briefing, allowed to identify some possible future starting points for collaboration in the field of ammunition demilitarization. “_Today’s day_,” concluded **the Director**, “_confirms the strategic role of the Noceto Facility and the importance of dialoguing with international entities operating in our same institutional framework_. _We are ready to face new partnerships as well as new technological and operational challenges, placing at the center the usual professionalism, corroborated by safety and innovation_.”
