The PNS & AID Innovation Day, held on March 13, 2025 at the Stabilimento Militare Recuperi e Ripristini del Munizionamento in Noceto, saw broad participation and was organized as part of the cooperation agreement signed between the two entities to create synergy and expand the underwater innovation ecosystem.
The meeting, aimed at presenting the objectives and mission of the Polo Nazionale della dimensione Subacquea (PNS) and the Research, Innovation, and Technology Transfer Office of the Agenzia Industrie Difesa (AID) to local institutions, clusters, small, medium, and large companies, as well as universities, generated significant interest among attendees working in the region’s technological excellence sectors. The focus was on the underwater domain and the development of innovative technologies aimed at bridging current technological gaps and promoting strategic independence.
Two roundtable discussions focused on managing synergies for collaborative development in dual-use research enabled a fruitful exchange of ideas regarding new technological paths and development sectors promoted by PNS and AID. The goal was to foster cooperation among various entities and promote the involvement of local institutions, SMEs, and universities, with an eye toward the upcoming PNS calls for proposals scheduled for April 2025.
PNS&AID Innovation Day represented a key opportunity for networking and cooperation, allowing participants to reflect on the opportunities and challenges of synergy in dual-use contexts and technological spin-ins from the civil sector to defense, with a particular emphasis on the underwater domain and its strategic role for the Nation.
