Terma Enhances Market Leading UAS Protection with Acquisition of OSL Technology

Terma A/S has completed the acquisition of OSL Technology

Terma A/S has finalized the acquisition of OSL Technology (OSL), a UK leading firm in drone security and defence systems. This acquisition marks a crucial step in Terma’s strategy, aiming to develop industry-leading competences in remotely piloted aircraft systems (C-UAS) and protection of critical infrastructures.

OSL is a British firm specializing in intelligent and drone security, based in the civil airspace sector, assisting top airports and national infrastructure sites in detecting, tracing and managing drones and other aerial threats in complex environments. Terma boasts decades of experience in the defence and security sector, providing military-grade radar solutions and command and control to military forces, air defence units, and operators of critical infrastructures.

The combined team incorporates both civil and defense mindsets and practices into a single end-to-end C-UAS solution capable of detecting, tracing, classifying, deciding, and responding to threats within seconds.

Terma and OSL now merge military-grade sensors, AI-based analysis, and concrete operational competencies into an open and modular ecosystem. Terma’s situational awareness experience integrating with OSL’s full-stack anti-drone suite ensures continuous coverage and intelligent fusion over sea, air, and land, inclusive of third-party sensors and effectors, providing a reliable operative framework that ranges from strategy to tactic.

Statements

Henriette H. Thygesen, CEO of Terma, stated, ‘The effective operational performances of OSL, resulting from years of protection of critical infrastructures at Heathrow and other important sites, shows its efficiency where it matters the most. Thanks to Terma’s multi-domain capability, formed from decades of experience in situational awareness provision and defense-level command and control, plus further bolstered by partnerships in Ukraine, we now offer one of the most comprehensive C-UAS suites on the market. This helps set a higher standard for the protection of people, airspace, and critical infrastructures. Not limited to Denmark, we offer a robust and comprehensive C-UAS solution that can contribute to leading European projects like the proposed EU drone initiative.’

For airport authorities, operators of critical infrastructures, and defense sector customers, the combined offering provides a cohesive C-UAS framework, with rapid implementation and immediate operative effect.

‘Joining Terma represents a tremendous opportunity for OSL and our customers. Terma’s multi-disciplinary experience combined with our C-UAS platform and our agility results in an unparalleled range of capabilities, from sensor to decision to response. This implies faster detection, smarter classification and precisely coordinated actions. It’s the perfect fusion of innovation and safety,’ stated Mark Legh-Smith, CEO of OSL.
