AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE in the Czech Republic has announced successful completion of training of the first pilots from the Hungarian Military Airforce on the Aero L-39NG Skyfox tactical training aircraft, marking a significant step in cooperation between the parties.
After undergoing a theoretical course, practical training, and final tests, the Hungarian pilots are now prepared to integrate the aircraft into their operational structure.
The delivery of the first L-39NG Skyfox aircraft to the Hungarian Air Forces is imminent, with the exact date to be confirmed soon.
Hungary will become the next user, after Vietnam and the Czech Republic, of this modern tactical training aircraft from AERO.
In 2022, AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE signed a contract with the Hungarian Defence Forces Command for the delivery of 12 new L-39NG trainers.
L-39NG Skyfox
The L-39NG Skyfox is a brand-new multifunctional and modern platform capable of covering multiple roles, from pilot training to light combat and recon missions.
The Skyfox, with completely renovated avionics, is available in both western and eastern configuration and is certified according to EU and NATO standards.
Equipped with a Williams International FJ44-4M turbojet, the Skyfox reaches a maximum speed of 490 knots with an internal fuel range of 1,150 nautical miles and has a maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) equivalent to 5,600 kilograms; the maximum useful payload is about 1,350 kilograms.
This versatile tech platform combines advanced simulation technologies and ground training systems.
The Czech trainer L-39NG Skyfox offers an innovative combination of modern avionics, powerful jet engine, and excellent flight characteristics, making him a suitable choice for all stages of training of fourth and fifteenth generation pilots, to recon missions and light combat operations aimed at cooperating with various ground forces.
