At the Naval Group facility in Lorient, the frigate HS Formion destined for the Hellenic Navy was launched.

The Formion is the third FDI type frigate built for Greece; Nikolaos Dendias, Minister of National Defense of the Hellenic Republic, was present at the important event.
A few days ago, the Athens government presented a program in the Parliament for the purchase of the fourth FDI type frigate currently available as an option which will be called Themistocles, the Greek shipbuilding industry will participate with a 25% share.
Currently, all three FDI frigates prepared for the Hellenic Navy have been launched and are in an advanced stage of production.
The first frigate, the HS Kimon is undergoing sea trials in anticipation of delivery, while the HS Nearchos has been transferred to the right bank of the Scorff River to complete the fitting out activities before the port trials which will be performed after the next summer.
The three frigates are expected to be delivered by the Naval Group to the Hellenic Navy starting from this year.
