US Air Force Extends Contract with Boeing for More KC-46A Pegasus Aircraft
In the United States, **Boeing has announced securing a contract with the US Air Force for Lot 12 production, which includes supplying a further 15 KC-46A Pegasus tanker aircraft**. The contract is valued at $2.47 billion. 
Increased Flight Hours with the KC-46A Fleet
**The American KC-46A fleet has exceeded 150,000 hours of flight time**, reflecting its substantial employment in training missions, operational sorties, and global deployment.
Global Presence of the KC-46A Aircraft
Currently, **183 KC-46A multi-mission refueling aircraft are either under contract or in service globally**, offering advanced capacity benefits for joint and allied forces. Of these, **98 have been delivered to the US Air Force, 6 to the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, and 4 have been allocated to the Heyl Ha’Avir**.
Enhancing the KC-46A Capabilities
According to Boeing, **recently awarded contracts**, including a July 2024 award for performance upgrades and mission readiness, **are enhancing the KC-46A’s communication abilities, data connectivity, and situational awareness**, thus ensuring the Pegasus remains the world’s most advanced multi-mission air refueling aircraft.
