In the United States, the State Department has decided to approve a possible foreign military sale (FMS) to the Ukrainian Government of support material for the PATRIOT air defense system and related equipment for an estimated cost of 105 million dollars.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has issued the required certification, notifying the Congress.
The Ukrainian Government has requested the purchase of items and services related to the support of the PATRIOT air defense system, including the upgrading of M901 launchers to the M903 Launching Stations New Buy and Upgrades configuration that allows the use of the PAC-3 MSE (Missile Segment Enhancement) and to increase the number of transportable missiles, up to 12 (PAC-3 MSE) or 16 (PAC-3) per launcher, depending on the variant.
The sale proposal also includes ground support equipment; other necessary services, auxiliaries, spare parts, support, training, and accessories and other related elements of logistics and program support.
The proposed sale will enhance Ukraine’s ability to address current and future threats, further equipping it with the necessary tools to conduct self-defense missions and regional security with a stronger local support capacity.
The main contractors will be RTX Corporation and Lockheed Martin; the implementation of this proposed sale will require the assignment of approximately five additional United States Government representatives and fifteen representatives from U.S contractors to the European Combatant Command for a maximum duration of one month, in support of training and periodic meetings.
